13.3.2 Climate Action Plan, shared

Srinakharinwirot University has a publicly shared climate action plan articulated through its “SWU Carbon Neutrality by 2040” framework, which is published on the university’s rankings website. The plan is formalised in a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between the central administration and all faculties, colleges, institutes and offices, committing the whole institution to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 in alignment with Thailand’s national targets of carbon neutrality by 2050 and net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2065. The document sets out clear objectives of cooperation, including proposing measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance carbon capture on campus, developing SWU as a model organisation for managing the carbon footprint of all units, and transforming the university into an institution that actively strives toward carbon neutrality. It also defines a cooperation framework, under which units jointly promote activities to support the SWU Carbon Neutrality policy and systematically record core operational data on building infrastructure, power management, waste management and water management to create a university-wide greenhouse gas emissions database. The same online platform includes a dedicated Roadmap section and an SWU Carbon Footprint Report area, underscoring that the climate action plan, its implementation steps and associated emissions tracking are consolidated and made publicly accessible.
