7.5.1 Low-carbon energy use


SWU, Ongkharak Campus, has continuously implemented measures to promote the use of low-carbon and clean energy sources in its operations. The university’s total energy consumption in 2024 amounted to 178,920 GJ, of which 17,963.18 GJ was derived from low-carbon energy sources such as renewable electricity and energy-efficient systems.

The university has adopted various initiatives to enhance energy sustainability, including the installation of solar cell systems, the replacement of lighting with LED technology, and the use of energy-saving air conditioning units. These actions align with SWU’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition toward a low-carbon campus.
