6.5.6 Promoting conscious water usage on campus
The university promotes awareness and encourages students, staff, and departments to use water efficiently and responsibly — avoiding unnecessary consumption and minimizing water loss. Both behavioral and technological approaches are emphasized, including:
Regular monitoring of tap water quality and annual cleaning of water storage tanks to maintain the university’s water standards.
Campaigns encouraging students and staff to adopt responsible water use behaviors, such as installing reminder signs to turn off taps after use.
Supporting all departments in upgrading to water-efficient technologies, such as sensor faucets and low-flow fixtures.
Reusing treated water for irrigation across the campus.
Monthly inspection of water pipelines and drainage systems to ensure water quality and prevent leaks or losses.
Implementing additional measures during crises or drought conditions — for instance, adjusting irrigation practices during the dry season and using water only as necessary.
