5.6.1 Policy of non-discrimination against women
Srinakharinwirot University's "Policy on Equality, Equity, and Fairness in Human Resource Management" explicitly addresses non-discrimination, including against women. The policy unequivocally states a commitment to promoting equity, fairness, and equal coexistence in the workplace, strictly prohibiting direct or indirect discrimination or restrictions on benefits based on several characteristics, prominently including "เพศสภาพ" (gender) and "เพศวิถี" (sexual orientation).
Specifically, the policy supports non-discrimination against women through the following points:
Explicit Prohibition of Discrimination based on Gender: The overarching policy statement directly lists "เพศสภาพ" (gender) as a protected characteristic, ensuring that women (and all genders) are not discriminated against in any aspect of human resources.
Equal and Fair Treatment in All HR Processes (Point 3): This guideline mandates equal and fair treatment in "recruitment processes, selection, performance evaluations, training and development, career progression, benefits, and welfare," which directly applies to women, ensuring they receive the same opportunities and treatment as their male counterparts.
Respect, Non-Discrimination, and Full Participation (Point 2): It requires personnel to "treat each other with respect, honor one another, not discriminate, coexist equally, and participate fully in work." This creates an inclusive environment where women's contributions are valued without prejudice.
Inclusive Dress Code (Point 6): This point explicitly states that "All genders, including those with gender diversity, may dress appropriately and suitably for the occasion at work, without necessarily conforming to the characteristics of their gender assigned at birth." While broader than just women, it reinforces a progressive and non-discriminatory approach to gender expression, contributing to a welcoming environment for women and individuals of all gender identities.
Prevention of Sexual Harassment (Point 7): The policy commits to "prevent and resolve issues of sexual harassment that may occur in the workplace," which is a critical measure for ensuring women's safety, dignity, and ability to work without fear of harassment.
In summary, Srinakharinwirot University has a clear and comprehensive policy in place that explicitly prohibits discrimination against women and other protected characteristics, ensuring their equal treatment, fair opportunities, and a safe, respectful working environment across all human resource functions.
