The university is committed to promoting Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) through outreach and community engagement activities that extend learning beyond the campus. In alignment with this mission, the institution has dedicated outreach educational programs for the wider community — including alumni, local residents, and displaced groups — aimed at empowering individuals and communities to achieve sustainable livelihoods and social equity.
In 2024, a significant collaborative initiative was carried out between the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Social Business Administration, Srinakharinwirot University, and the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT). This initiative focused on providing knowledge and training on career development as a means to reduce social inequality and promote sustainable income generation among community members.
The project featured guest speakers who are alumni from the Faculty of Social Sciences, majoring in Urban Community Development, who are now active social activists, such as Mr. Bundit Samret and Mr. Norawit Nithipanya. Together with faculty members from the Department of Sociology and the Department of Social Business Administration, they conducted fieldwork and community-based workshops to implement the project.

Srinakharinwirot University provides SDG education for the wider community through the “Reinventing University” community engagement projects coordinated by the Social Strategy Office. In 2024, SWU teams worked with local communities in Uthai District (Wat Sakae) and surrounding subdistricts to co-host SDG-themed exhibitions, community surveys and practical workshops. Activities included an exhibition and learning event at Wat Sakae, BSF (black soldier fly) larva composting workshops to turn organic waste into useful products, and field surveys in Nong Mai Sung and Ban Chang subdistricts to understand local needs and environmental conditions. These programmes build SDG awareness on waste, environment, sustainable livelihoods and participation, and are delivered on-site in temples and communities, ensuring that SDG learning extends beyond the campus to local citizens.
