Monitoring IUCN and other conservation species (policies)
Policy on the Identification, Monitoring, and Protection of IUCN Red List and National Conservation Species
in Areas Affected by University Operations
Srinakharinwirot University is dedicated to advancing sustainable development through the effective management of its physical, environmental, and knowledge resources in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The University has established its Environmental and Biological Resource Conservation Policy to promote and support sustainability as follows:
Ecosystem Sustainability: Conduct all operations with a strong commitment to conserving, restoring, and sustainably utilizing terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, including forests, mountains, caves, drylands, wetlands, freshwater, brackish water, marine environments, and wildlife habitats.
Biodiversity Conservation: Support and implement initiatives that identify, monitor, and protect biodiversity, with particular emphasis on species at risk of extinction, including those listed in the IUCN Red List and species protected under national conservation laws.
Invasive Species Management: Develop and enforce measures to control and manage invasive alien species and conflict species within the University’s areas of operation.
Green Space Preservation and Carbon Reduction: Maintain and enhance natural green spaces through the care of existing trees and the promotion of new tree planting, aiming to increase carbon sequestration by at least 10% of baseline greenhouse gas emissions by B.E. 2569 (2026).
