Policy on the Conservation, Restoration,

and Sustainable Use of Terrestrial Ecosystems Associated with the University


Srinakharinwirot University actively promotes sustainable development through the effective management of its physical, environmental, and knowledge resources in accordance with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The University has established its Environmental and Biological Resource Conservation Policy to guide sustainable practices as follows:

  1. Ecosystem Sustainability: Conduct all operations with a commitment to conserving, restoring, and sustainably utilizing terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, including forests, mountains, drylands, wetlands, freshwater, brackish water, marine areas, and wildlife habitats.

  2. Biodiversity Conservation: Support initiatives that identify, monitor, and protect plant and animal biodiversity, especially endangered species listed in the IUCN Red List and those protected under relevant national legislation.

  3. Invasive Species Management: Enforce measures to control and manage invasive alien species and conflict species within the University’s jurisdiction.

  4. Green Space and Carbon Reduction: Preserve and expand green spaces by maintaining existing trees and promoting additional planting, aiming to increase carbon sequestration by at least 10% of baseline greenhouse gas emissions by B.E. 2569 (2026).

  5. Collaborative Conservation Efforts: Foster partnerships with local communities, networks, government agencies, and educational institutions—domestically and internationally—to enhance the conservation, restoration, and sustainable use of biological resources through cross-sectoral participation.
