14.5.3 Programmes towards good aquatic stewardship practices
Srinakharinwirot University promotes good aquatic stewardship practices through youth-focused environmental education programmes. The Faculty of Environmental Culture and Ecotourism organises the “Environmental ECE Youth Camp 2 (EECEY Camp 2)”, at SWU Ongkharak Campus, Nakhon Nayok. The camp provides upper-secondary students with both theoretical and hands-on learning experiences in environmental conservation, including laboratory and field-based activities on water quality assessment, plant-based pollution mitigation, climate change and carbon stock, bird watching, and waste separation and utilisation. By engaging young people in measuring and understanding water quality, practising responsible waste and resource management, and linking these skills to broader ecosystem and climate issues, the programme helps build a new generation of youth who are aware of and actively contribute to the sustainable management of freshwater and related ecosystems.
