14.3.3 Maintain ecosystems and their biodiversity (direct work)
Srinakharinwirot University carries out direct, hands-on work to help maintain marine ecosystems and their biodiversity through the “SWU Together for Good” initiative. In this programme, SWU staff and alumni participated in building and installing artificial “fish homes” (บ้านปลา) to support the restoration of coral reef areas and create additional habitat for marine species in coastal waters. The activity was organised as a collaborative effort with local partners to rehabilitate degraded reef zones, enhance shelter and breeding grounds for fish and other marine organisms, and raise awareness among university leaders and participants about the importance of healthy marine ecosystems. This direct field action demonstrates SWU’s practical contribution to conserving marine biodiversity and supporting the recovery of underwater habitats.
