14.3.1 Conservation and sustainable utilisation of the oceans (events)

Srinakharinwirot University supports the conservation and sustainable use of marine and coastal resources through academic and community engagement activities focused on coastal ecosystem management and sustainable seafood systems. The University’s platforms highlight integrated approaches to coastal and estuarine management that promote ecosystem rehabilitation, sustainable land use and pollution reduction in coastal areas. SWU also showcases and collaborates with seafood social enterprises such as Satun Fisherfolk, which connect small-scale fishers to fair markets while reinvesting profits in marine conservation and sustainable small-scale fisheries. Through these outreach activities and partnerships, the University helps disseminate practical models that protect the oceans while supporting the long-term resilience of coastal communities.
