About
14.2.1 Fresh-water ecosystems (community outreach)
Srinakharinwirot University promotes community-engaged education on freshwater ecosystems through a Field Skills Enhancement Program organised by the Faculty of Science at the Jedkod–Pongkonsao Ecotourism and Nature Study Center in Saraburi Province and the Chulalongkorn University Regional Learning Center. The activity enabled students to study, record and analyse ecological data in both forest and freshwater environments, including streams and water bodies within the conservation area, while learning directly from local site managers and educators responsible for ecosystem protection and ecotourism. The programme combined hands-on fieldwork with relationship-building among students, staff and community partners, strengthening awareness of freshwater ecosystem services, conservation practices and the links between watershed health, sustainable tourism and local community well-being.
