12.2.6 Policy for minimisation of disposable items
Srinakharinwirot University reduces the use of disposable items as part of its integrated “SWU Zero Carbon” and “SWU Zero Waste” policy, which sets clear annual targets for cutting energy use, greenhouse gas emissions and general waste. By promoting campus-wide waste separation, reducing general waste by 10% each year and encouraging the shift towards reusable and durable options, the University actively discourages reliance on single-use products in daily operations and campus life. These measures are supported by awareness-raising activities for students, staff, academics and on-campus businesses, fostering behavioural change towards reuse, resource efficiency and responsible consumption. Through this approach, the University gradually transforms routine practices that previously depended on disposable items into more sustainable habits across both campuses.
