11.4.7 Local authority collaboration regarding planning and development
Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) is committed to working with local authorities to address urban planning and development challenges around our campuses—especially ensuring that local residents can access safe, dignified, and affordable housing. In 2024, Dr. Chadchart Sittipunt, the Governor of Bangkok, signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) regarding the planning and development of collaborative projects for promoting local healthy communities. As part of this cooperation, improvements were made to pedestrian safety and the surrounding environment in the communities around SWU.


The "Sukha Asoke Network" (formerly "Asoke Na Yoo Network") has been operating since mid-2022 to the present. This group brings together public sector organizations, private companies, educational institutions, and others located in the Asoke Montri Road area. Participants include Srinakharinwirot University, Kiatnakin Phatra Financial Group, Sino-Thai Engineering and Construction Public Company Limited, Rutnin Eye Hospital, Heritage Estates Co., Ltd., Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, GMM Grammy Public Company Limited, FICO Corporation Limited, and The Siam Society Under Royal Patronage.
The collaboration aims to jointly develop the Asoke area into a more livable space across four dimensions: Happy Lifestyle, Happy Commute, Happy Activities, and Happy Environment. This is achieved through co-thinking and co-implementation to promote, support, and integrate resources in the form of various creative plans/projects/activities.
Srinakharinwirot University is a key member of the "Sukha Asoke Network," a collaborative initiative involving public, private, and educational sectors. This network, operating since mid-2022, focuses on the integrated development of the Asoke area. The collaboration aims to enhance livability across lifestyle, commute, activities, and environment. Through joint planning and resource integration, the university actively contributes to improving urban development and community well-being in its locality.

Making Asoke Cleaner: Starting with the Bottle in Our Hands
The 9th PET Collection event, hosted by Indorama Ventures at their headquarters in Ocean Tower 2, has concluded. This event is held quarterly to promote proper waste separation and recycling. Employees and people from nearby communities were invited to return used PET plastic bottles for proper recycling at our recycling plant in Nakhon Pathom Province.
