11.4.3 Allow remote working
Promoting Remote Work for Sustainable Quality of Life for Srinakharinwirot University Personnel
In response to changing work patterns and environmental challenges, Srinakharinwirot University has formally introduced remote working and telecommuting as part of its organizational policy. The initiative emerged in the post-COVID era, when hybrid and flexible work models became essential to maintaining productivity and employee well-being. Beyond offering convenience, remote work serves as a practical solution to urban challenges such as severe traffic congestion and recurring PM2.5 air pollution. By reducing the need for daily commuting, the university not only enhances quality of life for its employees but also contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas and particulate emissions associated with urban travel.
The university has issued clear policy guidelines to support telecommuting and provides comprehensive digital infrastructure to ensure smooth and secure operations. Staff members are equipped with computers, reliable internet connections, and access to collaborative platforms such as cloud-based document management systems, video conferencing tools, and shared communication channels. These resources enable employees to perform their responsibilities effectively from home or other remote locations.
Recognizing that sustainable work practices require both institutional support and individual adaptability, Srinakharinwirot University encourages its staff to utilize these tools across personal devices and remote environments. Training sessions and technical support are provided to ensure accessibility and data security. The university’s proactive stance on remote working reflects its broader vision of sustainability, health protection, and digital transformation. The following section outlines the key interventions, technological measures, and policy frameworks implemented to support and enhance this remote working initiative.
