10.6.5 University diversity officer

Srinakharinwirot University maintains formal governance for diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights. The administration has appointed the Committee for the Promotion of Sexual Safety and Gender Awareness as the institution-level body to advise on and implement policies, programmes, and trainings; coordinate prevention and awareness activities; provide reporting and response mechanisms for harassment and discrimination; and support affected individuals. To ensure campus-wide implementation, faculties and institutes also operate their own gender-equality committees (e.g., Faculty of Science; Ongkharak Demonstration School of Srinakharinwirot University) that deliver training, campaigns, and inclusive activities such as Pride Month and “Social in Love.” Together, these committees constitute the University’s designated structure—tasked by leadership—to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and human rights across the campus community.

HIGHLIGHTS

Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) is strongly committed to promoting diversity, equality, inclusion, and fundamental human rights within its academic and administrative community. To reinforce this commitment, the University has established key committees to sexual diversity, gender equality, and human rights promotion.

The Committee for the Promotion of Sexual Safety and Gender Awareness was formally established to develop and implement policies, coordinate preventive and educational activities, and ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all members of the university community.

In addition, individual faculties and institutes have formed their own gender equality committees to further support university-wide initiatives, including organizing awareness campaigns, training programs, and inclusive activities such as Pride Month and Social in Love, which celebrate gender diversity and promote understanding among students and staff.
