1.3.4 Bottom financial quintile student support

The university actively supports students from lower-income backgrounds by providing scholarships. Data from Academic Year 2024 illustrates the number of students from the bottom 10% and bottom 20% income brackets who received scholarships.

A. Support for Students in the Bottom 10% Income Bracket (Households earning under 8,585 Baht per month in Thailand, 2024)


A total of 164 students from the bottom 10% income bracket received scholarships in 2024. The distribution across faculties/colleges is as follows:

B. Support for Students in the Bottom 20% Income Bracket (Households earning under 11,600 Baht per month in Thailand, 2024)

A total of 319 students from the bottom 20% income bracket received scholarships in 2024. The breakdown by faculty/college is as follows:

The data clearly demonstrates the university's commitment to supporting students from low-income backgrounds.

  • Significant Outreach: The university identifies and provides scholarships to a substantial number of students within the bottom 10% and 20% income brackets.

  • Targeted Aid: For example, in the bottom 10% bracket, the Faculty of Education shows a very high conversion rate of identified low-income students receiving scholarships (40 out of 42). Similarly, in the bottom 20% bracket, 72 out of 75 students from the Faculty of Education received scholarships. This suggests effective targeting of financial aid to those in need.

  • Broad Coverage: Scholarships are distributed across various faculties and colleges, indicating a university-wide effort to ensure that students from less privileged backgrounds, regardless of their chosen field of study, receive financial assistance.
