1.3.2 Bottom financial quintile student success

Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) continuously monitors the academic progress, graduation, and completion rates of students from the bottom 20% of household income group to ensure that support measures effectively promote student success. This monitoring enables data-driven evaluation and improvement of initiatives designed to reduce inequality and enhance outcomes for financially disadvantaged students.

In the 2024 academic year, 198 students from low-income backgrounds successfully graduated/completed their studies with scholarship support provided by both university-funded and external programs. These graduates represented a wide range of faculties, including Education, Engineering, Humanities, Fine Arts, Social Sciences, Nursing, and others, demonstrating the university’s commitment to academic achievement across disciplines.

In addition, the Student Loan Fund (SLF) played a crucial role in supporting students from the bottom financial quintile. A total of 1,407 SLF recipients successfully graduated/completed their degree programs in 2024, reflecting the effectiveness of financial aid in enabling access to higher education and degree completion.

These results highlight SWU’s strong commitment to empowering students from the bottom 20% of household income group, ensuring they not only access higher education but also succeed, graduate, and progress toward improved economic and social mobility.
