Financial Aid Support for Low-Income Students

Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) places strong emphasis on supporting students from low-income or financially disadvantaged families to ensure that every student can pursue higher education and enjoy a good quality of life throughout their studies. The university recognizes that equitable access to education is essential to reducing inequality and promoting social mobility in alignment with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 1.2.1—low-income students receiving financial aid.

In the 2024 academic year, the Division of Student Affairs at SWU implemented a range of financial aid programs to assist students facing financial hardship or those in need of urgent financial support. These initiatives aim to relieve economic pressure, prevent students from discontinuing their studies due to financial constraints, and foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

The university provides multiple forms of financial assistance, including university scholarships for students experiencing financial difficulties, emergency grants for students facing sudden or unforeseen financial crises, scholarships funded by faculties, colleges, and the Graduate School, and external scholarships from government agencies, private organizations, and charitable foundations. These various funding sources reflect the university’s commitment to financial equity and educational opportunity, ensuring that no student is left behind due to economic barriers.

Through these initiatives, SWU ensures that students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds can continue their studies without interruption, maintain their academic performance, and participate fully in university life. This directly contributes to reducing inequality (SDG 10) and ending poverty in all its forms (SDG 1) by providing sustainable access to higher education for all.

In the 2024 academic year, a total of 9,883 students at Srinakharinwirot University (SWU)received various forms of financial aid through multiple channels aimed at supporting students from low-income or financially challenged backgrounds.

  • Internal scholarships from 20 faculties, colleges, and the Graduate School

  • External scholarships are supported by external organizations and donors in collaboration with the university's faculties and colleges.
