Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) provides a wide range of physical activity facilities and programmes that support regular exercise, recreation, and holistic health promotion for students, staff, and surrounding communities. These facilities are integrated into the University’s Healthy University Policy and are actively utilised through organised events and daily use.
1) Policies and organization of special health-promoting exercise events
Under the University’s Healthy University Framework and institutional health policies (SI 1.1), SWU promotes physical activity as a core component of holistic well-being. The policy framework commits the University to developing both physical and mental health through structured health-promotion activities, including exercise-based events and programmes.
In addition, special events such as “Yoga & Sound Healing” sessions led by external experts (e.g. ครูธันวา and the Yogachiwan team) are organised in central campus locations (e.g. the Wichchanitron room, 1st floor, Prasarnmit Building 3, next to the football field). These events invite staff and students to relax, reduce stress, and recharge through yoga and sound-healing practices, demonstrating innovative use of campus spaces for health-promoting exercise activities (evidence via official SWU social media event announcement as provided).

2) Accessibility to outdoor exercise platforms within the campus
SWU offers extensive outdoor exercise platforms through the Sirindhorn Sports Center at Ongkharak Campus. Facilities include:
A main outdoor stadium with a standard natural grass football field and a 9-lane synthetic rubber running track, used for training, recreation, and competitions, and accessible to students, staff, and the public.
Multiple outdoor courts and recreation areas, such as beach volleyball courts, outdoor volleyball and basketball courts with lighting, softball fields, playgrounds, and outdoor fitness zones. These spaces are open during designated hours, many free of charge, to promote daily physical activity and community engagement.

3) Accessibility to indoor exercise spaces such as fitness centers
The University provides several indoor exercise spaces, particularly through the Sirindhorn Sports Center’s multi-purpose sports buildings and the SWU Fitness Center:
Sports Buildings 1–3: large indoor complexes with synthetic and parquet flooring that accommodate futsal, basketball, badminton, table tennis, volleyball, handball, sepak takraw, martial arts, gymnastics, boxing, Muay Thai, taekwondo, and judo training.
The SWU Fitness Center (Sports Building 2, 1st floor) is a modern gym and training laboratory equipped with around 68 international-standard exercise machines, cardio and weight-training zones, functional training areas, showers, changing rooms, and a first aid room. The center offers free access for students and affordable membership for staff and the public, with 300–350 users per day on average.
These facilities ensure that students and staff have convenient access to indoor exercise spaces year-round.

4) Accessibility to multiple specialized facilities
SWU’s Sirindhorn Sports Center also provides multiple specialised sports and physical activity facilities, including:
A standard football field and athletics track.
An aquatic sports complex with three pools (50 m swimming/water polo pool, diving pool, and warm-up/relaxation pool) with seating for 4,000 spectators.
Multiple indoor and outdoor courts for basketball, volleyball (including beach volleyball), futsal, badminton (8 certified courts), tennis (7 courts plus practice wall), and other sports.
Additional specialised areas such as a climbing wall, gymnastics area, and designated spaces for martial arts.
These specialised facilities support both recreational use and competitive sport, promoting diverse forms of physical activity.

5) Other innovative physical activity facilities or policies
Beyond standard facilities, SWU integrates innovative physical activity initiatives into its health-promotion system, including:
The use of campus multipurpose rooms (e.g. Wichchanitron Room, Prasarnmit Building 3) for Yoga & Sound Healing events that combine movement and therapeutic sound to enhance both physical and mental well-being.
Non-profit operation and inclusive access policies at the Sirindhorn Sports Center, ensuring that sports facilities are accessible not only to students and staff but also to the surrounding community, thereby strengthening community health and social connectedness.

Summary for HP 4.1
